Harrison Goodman has continued his progression in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge, finishing the fourth round at Queensland Raceway with a sixth placed finish.
Improvement was the key to Goodman’s weekend as he made continual gains.
Goodman qualified down in 14th place but made good gains to claim 11th in the first race.
Race 2, held in the twilight of Saturday afternoon, saw a rough and tumble race, with Goodman hanging on to take another 11th place.
In the longer, 45 minute finale, Goodman displayed its ability to run with the front runners, crossing the line in sixth place and keeping his run towards the top five of the series in tact.
While not totally happy with the weekend, Goodman was pleased to bring his Bob Jane T-Marts Porsche home cleanly.
“Overall the weekend started off slow, I struggled a bit with the car, adapting to the conditions and the track, so I was a bit disappointed on that path,” Goodman said.
“In the last race I managed to pull something out to make up a decent amount of positions and race pretty well.
“It was a good weekend, solid points and that’s what we can hope for moving forward to the next round at The Bend.”
The results over the weekend sees Goodman drop from fifth to seventh in the series standings, however, the gaps to those in front are small, making the final two rounds vital.
Harrison and the #88 Bob Jane T-Marts team now turn their focus to The Bend Motorsport Park for Round 5 of the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge on October 13-15.
The final round will be held at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, in November.
