    1. The Warranty

    Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

    • to cancel your service contract with us; and
    • to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.

    You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

    For further information speak to our Bob Jane T-Mart staff, contact our customer service desk on 1800 032 638 or find the address of your nearest Bob Jane T-Marts.

    The Bob Jane T-Marts (BJTM) Wheel Division hereby warrants that all wheels, associated products and accessories purchased from a Bob Jane T-Marts store are, and will be:

    1.1. Free from all structural defects for the lifetime of the said wheels and associated products and accessories, subject to the specific exclusions specified in paragraphs 5 and 6 of the warranty;

    1.2. Free from faults and/or defects in the finish of the wheels and associated products and accessories for a reasonable period from the date of purchase, subject to the specific exclusions specified in paragraphs 5 and 6 of this warranty.

    1.3. For a reasonable period from the date of purchase for faults or defects in the finished appearance of the wheels.

    1.4. For the lifetime of the Wheels for all structural defects subject to the exclusions specified in sections 5 & 6 below.

    1.5. Only upon production of your invoice/receipt of purchase.

    1.6. Only as the original purchaser of the Wheels.

    1.7. Only if the Wheels have been reasonably maintained (see section 4 below

    For more details, refer to the sections below.

    2. Warranty Coverage

    All wheels, associated products and accessories supplied by BJTM are manufactured in compliance with Australian Standard AS1638.

    The warranty will only be applicable to the original purchaser of the wheels, associated products and accessories. The warranty is unable to be assigned to a future purchaser of the customer's vehicle and entitlement to rely upon the terms and conditions of this warranty do not automatically vest in the purchaser of a customer's vehicle upon such purchase being completed;

    The finish and structural warranty referred to in (i) – (iv) shall apply as follows:

    i. the breakdown of any protective surface on all wheels, including the breakdown of any painted, clear coated and/or chrome surfaces on those wheels;
    ii. such problems as the peeling of paint from the surface of any wheels arising out of poor surface preparation of the wheels or corrosion of the painted, clear-lacquered or chrome protective finish on those wheels.
    iii. any accessories to the wheels which form part of the aesthetics of those wheels, such as centre caps, decals, false ornamental rivets and bolts. In the event that these accessories break or become dislodged from the wheels as a result of the manufacturer’s poor workmanship, these parts will be replaced without any charge to the customer.
    iv. Wheels which are unable to be balanced properly, but only in circumstances where diagnostic evidence has been produced by the customer as to the balancing problem immediately after the wheels have been fitted to the customer's vehicle.

    3. Inspection Standard of New Wheels

    Subsequent to manufacture and completion of all wheels supplied by BJTM, and prior to supply to customers, BJTM conducts an inspection of the said wheels in order to confirm that the finish is of an acceptable standard.

    4. Maintenance of New Alloy Wheels

    To ensure that wheels maintain their high quality and long life, it is imperative that the customer understands the importance of maintaining the wheels properly. If the purchased wheels are not appropriately maintained during the course of their use, they may sustain unnecessary damage.

    In the event that damage is sustained to a wheel as a consequence of a customer's failure to follow appropriate maintenance procedures, that customer may be unable to rely upon the terms and conditions of this warranty. BJTM provides the following guidelines for appropriate maintenance of all wheels:

    4.1. Once wheels have been purchased and fitted to the customer's vehicle, it is important that the customer re-tension the wheel nuts/bolts after the vehicle has travelled 200 kilometres. This is extremely important as the wheel nuts/bolts can be loosened slightly during the first 200 kilometres which may result in unnecessary damage or wear and tear to the wheels and a reduction in driving safety;

    4.2. Subsequent to the first 200 kilometres, the customer should carry out a periodic monthly inspection of the wheel nuts/bolts on all wheels to ensure that they have not become loose;

    4.3. It is important that new wheels are cleaned on a regular basis to maintain a painted, clear coated or chrome protective finish and to ensure that the finish does not become affected by corrosive materials. It is suggested that the wheels should be appropriately washed at least once a fortnight, however, if a customer's vehicle is used on a particularly extensive or intensive basis, it may be necessary for the wheels to be washed on a more regular basis to avoid damage to the finish.

    4.4. It is suggested that wheels should be washed thoroughly with water and a gentle soap product. As some soaps and detergents are harsh, the customer should investigate the ingredients of any such soap or detergent to ensure they are not likely to harm the painted, clear coated or chrome protective finish.

    4.5. If a customer is unable to ascertain the most suitable products to be used in washing the wheels, the customer should contact their nearest Bob Jane T-Marts store, whose staff will be happy to assist in any queries which the customer may have.

    4.6. Chrome alloy wheels require a more regular maintenance regime in order to maintain the appearance and quality of the finish. Chrome alloy wheels should be washed at least once a week and then polished on a regular basis to protect against corrosion. It is suggested that, in order to provide effective protection, chrome alloy wheels should be polished at least once a month.

    4.7. By not regularly washing the wheels, the protective finishes may degrade rapidly. It is especially important that the customer undertakes a regular cleaning ritual in circumstances where the customer's vehicle is being used in such a manner that it may come into contact with corrosive materials, chemicals, excessive dirt or ocean air, as these materials are more likely to corrode the protective surface if allowed to remain on that surface for an extended period of time.

    4.8. If appropriate maintenance procedures are not followed by the customer, the customer's reliance upon the terms and conditions of this warranty will be adversely affected and BJTM reserves the right to refuse repairs or replacement of the wheels or associated products and accessories in circumstances where any damage, defect or fault has arisen as a consequence of the customer's failure to maintain the wheel properly as per above.

    4.9. Care should be taken in parking your vehicle alongside concrete kerbs or similar objects, since scraping wheels along a harsh surface can scratch and damage the finish of the Wheels. Such care is especially important for the passenger side when parking your vehicle. Impact, scratch and/or damage caused by careless parking alongside kerbs and/or similar objects is considered not to be reasonable treatment of your Wheels and resulting damage will not be covered by your Warranty.

    5. Reasons for Refusal of A Claim For Warranty

    BJTM will refuse or deny a claim in accordance with the terms and conditions of this warranty in the following circumstances:

    5.1. Any apparent fault, damage or defect in the finish of the wheel which is not observable by adopting the method of inspection by observation of the wheel in correct lighting at a distance of 1 metre.

    5.2. The damage, defect or fault in the wheel, or the protective finish of the wheel, has been caused, or, in the opinion of BJTM, reasonably appears to have been caused, by any act of the customer or any third party, including, but not limited to, damage caused to the wheel by collision with another vehicle, collision with roadside kerbs, collision with potholes or by the wheel being struck or otherwise dealt with in an inappropriate manner.

    5.3. It is determined that the wheels have not been appropriately maintained by the customer such that any damage, defect or fault in the wheel is consequential upon that failure to maintain. An assessment as to whether or not the wheels have been appropriately maintained will be determined by the BJTM Wheel Division.

    5.4. Any centre caps, decals or false ornamental rivets or bolts which are missing from the wheel in circumstances where those parts have been stolen or otherwise removed by the customer or a third party.

    5.5. Damage to, or loss of centre caps, decals, false ornamental rivets or bolts or other such accessories which form part of the aesthetics of the wheel caused by any act of the customer or a third party.

    5.6. Any claims where there is evidence of paint chipping around the centre bore area or stud holes will be required to be directed to the Bob Jane T-Marts store responsible for fitting the wheels to the customer's vehicle.

    5.7. Any claim by the customer lodged subsequently to the lapse of the reasonable warranty period (from the date of purchase) in relation to damage, defects or faults in the protective finish. Even if damage, faults or defects are discovered in the protective finish on the wheels within the reasonable period subsequent to purchase, it is incumbent upon the customer to provide notice of that damage and the customer's reliance upon the terms and conditions of this warranty to BJTM prior to the expiration of the reasonable time period.

    5.8. Where the relevant wheels have been purchased from BJTM in circumstances where they were heavily discounted or otherwise identified as being a "special" purchase. In this respect, sometimes wheels are sold at greatly reduced prices as they are obsolete or discontinued lines. These products will not be covered by the terms and conditions of this warranty. Quite often such clearance products are no longer available from suppliers or distributors. In such cases, a claim is unable to be made against BJTM Wheel Division due to the unavailability of replacement wheels or the associated parts and accessories in the event that those wheels or parts and accessories are lost or damaged. In such cases, BJTM will, in an effort to maintain good customer relations, negotiate with the relevant customer to reduce the price of wheels and/or parts and accessories already provided or to provide the customer with special consideration with respect to future purchases.

    5.9. Once the vehicle has been used subsequent to fitting, any problems with the balancing of the wheels must be brought to the notice of the Bob Jane T-Marts store where the wheels were fitted. BJTM shall, at all material times, be the sole and final arbiter of all claims made pursuant to the terms and conditions of this warranty.

    Note - None of the restrictions for warranties for goods in this ‘special’ category affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law where such goods are faulty

    6. Warranty/Claims Procedure

    In the event that a customer wishes to make a claim for a wheel upon the terms and conditions of this warranty, the following procedure must be adhered to in all respects. Any failure to comply with the procedure set out hereunder may operate to prevent the customer from relying upon the terms and conditions of this warranty.

    6.1. As soon as the customer discovers:
    i. any defects, damage or fault in the structure of the above-mentioned wheels; or
    ii. any fault, defect or damage to the protective finish on the above-mentioned wheels; or
    iii. any defect, fault or damage to the associated products and accessories; or

    iv. that any items such as centre caps, decals, false ornamental rivets or bolts have become dislodged from the wheel and are missing, the customer must immediately contact BJTM so as to arrange a time for an inspection of the said wheels and/or associated products and accessories. Alternatively, the customer must attend upon any Bob Jane T-Marts store immediately upon discovering the fault, defect, damage or loss so as to arrange for an inspection to be conducted. If the customer fails to bring any defect, damage, loss or fault to the timely attention of BJTM.

    6.2. BJTM may deny or modify the customer's claim pursuant to the terms and conditions of this warranty in circumstances where the customer's failure to report the damage, defect, loss or fault in a timely fashion has resulted in consequential damage or the inability to locate an exact, or similar replacement of the item at issue.

    6.3. The customer must, when attending upon the Bob Jane T-Marts store, produce a copy of the original invoice generated by BJTM when providing the relevant wheel and/or associated products and accessories. A copy of the original invoice or exact copy must be produced or your claim may be refused.

    6.4. Any problem with any wheel or associated products and accessories should be discussed with representatives of the Bob Jane T-Marts store who will then conduct a simple assessment of the relevant product. This representative may then contact the BJTM Wheel Division for further guidance, if necessary.

    6.5. In some circumstances, the affected wheel or wheels may need to be returned to the BJTM Wheel Division for further inspection and assessment. The customer will be required to meet the payment of any expenses associated with transporting the relevant wheels to and from the BJTM Wheel Division. In the event that the relevant product is found to be faulty or defective, any freight charge deemed to be payable for the transport of the said product will be paid by BJTM Wheel Division and not the customer.

    6.6. In most circumstances, if any wheels or associated products and accessories require lengthy assessment and inspection, BJTM may provide the customer with a replacement wheel or part until the assessment by BJTM has been completed and a determination has been made as to whether or not the customer is entitled to rely upon the terms and conditions of this warranty in the circumstances.

    6.7. In the event that any wheel or associated product or accessory requires transportation to the BJTM Wheel Division for inspection and assessment, it is envisaged that the relevant product will not be returned to the Bob Jane T-Marts store for a period of no less than seven (7) working days from the date upon which the said product was received at the BJTM Wheel Division.

    6.8. Once an inspection or assessment of the relevant product has been affected by representatives of a Bob Jane T-Marts store or by representatives of the BJTM Wheel Division, a determination will be made by BJTM as to whether or not the customer is entitled to rely upon the terms and conditions of this warranty.

    6.9. If BJTM determines that the relevant damage, loss, fault or defect is subject to the terms and conditions of this warranty, BJTM will make the appropriate arrangements with the customer to repair the relevant product or to provide a replacement product, if necessary.
