Harrison Goodman has collected valuable points in the race for the 2023 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge at Symmons Plains Raceway on the weekend.
Goodman, driving the #88 Bob Jane T-Marts Porsche entry, collected three top 10 results, ensuring he remains in the fight for the series crown.
After qualifying 10th in the competitive field, Goodman finished fifth in Race 1, third in Race 2 and ninth in the final race.
His result in the final race was compromised after an incident midway through the 40-lap finale. Goodman was collected by a rival, dropping him to the rear of the field, giving him the task to drag his Porsche back through the field. After his valiant fightback, he ended up ninth.
While disappointed with the result in the final, Goodman was pleased with one podium finish and a strong haul of points.
“Overall it was a pretty good weekend,” said Goodman.
“I fell back a bit in qualifying and I had to make up a bit of time during the race, but I managed to work through the pack to finish fifth.
“I fought hard in the second race to get to third, which was excellent for the points and in the last race we were doing well. I started third and continued to battle in the leading pack until I was taken out by another driver. I ended up at the back of the pack, but worked my way back up to finish ninth.
“It was a consistent weekend and we achieved our aim of scoring a healthy amount of points. I’m looking forward to the next round in Sydney alongside the Supercars again.”
The next round of the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge will be held at Sydney Motorsport Park in July, again as a support class to the Repco Supercars Championship.
