There was success for Bob Jane T-Marts and Sonic Motor Racing Services at Sydney Motorsport Park for the opening round of the Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship.
Entering the 2025 season with an unchanged line-up led by Pro Class contenders Angelo Mouzouris and Marcos Flack joined by Pro-Am’s Rodney Jane, the team prepared and run by title winning operation Sonic Motor Racing Services is a strong one.
Opening the season earlier at Sydney Motorsport Park didn’t hamper the Bob Jane T-Marts trio as each displayed solid pace to ensure a strong haul of points was gained.
Jane proved the master in the Pro-Am Class by taking the win in Race 1 to set-up the round victory. This was backed up by a third in the 45-minute opening Enduro Cup race of the season and fourth in the finale to seal his first Pro-Am round victory since 2008.
Flack led the way in the Pro Class by qualifying eighth and maintaining this through an action-packed Race 1.
Scoring 11th in the Enduro Cup event, Flack returned to the top 10 in the final race to be ninth and ending the weekend eighth for the round.
Contact in Race 1 hampered Mouzouris leading him to finish 14th after qualifying 10th, but the endurance event proved strong resulting in seventh to display what the driver and car combination is capable of.
Mouzouris finished the weekend 11th in Race 3 and will target further improvement on home turf at Albert Park.
Glitz and glamour is next on the menu for the Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship in its traditional support to the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix on March 13-16.

“Overall, it was a pretty positive weekend,” Flack summarised.
“We scored two top 10s and just finished outside in the remaining race, which is a big step forward in consistency from last year."
“I’m really excited to take what we learnt from here to the Australian Grand Prix, with myself and the team hoping to build on this consistency for the season in addition to the high standards and expectations we set last year."
“Huge thanks to everyone at Sonic, the team at Versalux and Bob Jane T-Marts for the support.”
Angelo Mouzouris

“I was pretty crook all weekend and was actually quite sick, so just trying to get through the event was pretty important,” said Mouzouris.
“This weekend we were very quick, but it’s just so hard to pass here and I made a mistake in qualifying that put us in the pack. Then, trying to get out of the mid-pack is pretty difficult, so we finished 10th for the event, which was good."
“We’ve got a good, solid foundation moving to the Australian Grand Prix."
"We’ve got to get qualifying right and be mistake-free and we should be up at the pointy end."
“Very, very thankful for Bob Jane T-Marts and 4Cabling for signing on in 2025.”
Rodney Jane

“I’m really happy,” Jane said.
“The guys set up the car really well and it wasn’t my best race in the last, but the car was fantastic in the first two races."
“I’ve got my cousin Kim on the radio, which is really nice and we used to do it in the AUSCAR days. It’s awesome to have him back and he knows what it’s like to be in the car, so he feeds me the information in a way he knows I will understand."
“I’ve got Ray back on the car, who is a 21-year veteran of Sonic. He’s always cool, calm and collected, so it’s been good to have Ray back helping me."
“It’s been a good start to the season.”
